Cindy R. (Wint) Lefchak

Cindy R. Lefchak, of Scranton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on August 26 from complications related to dementia. She was 69 years old.

Born and raised in Scranton, Cindy graduated from Scranton Central High School in 1974 and from the University of Pittsburgh in 1976, earning her degree in dental hygiene. She worked as a dental hygienist for several local dentists before choosing to devote herself full-time to raising her two sons, David and Andrew.

Cindy's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife and mother and a loving grandmother who wanted nothing more than for the people she loved to feel happy and cared for. The warmth, kindness, and love she gave so freely will live on in the many memories shared by her family and friends.

Cindy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Stephen, who was also her devoted caregiver; her sons, David and his wife, Caitlin, of West Hartford, Connecticut, and Andrew and his wife, Rose, of Bel Air, Maryland; her beloved grandchildren, Benjamin, Westley, Isabel, and Maura; and her mother, Phyllis Wint.

She is also survived by her sister, Marla, and her husband, Dr. Bruce Goodman, of Newtown, Pennsylvania; her sisters-in-law, Cathy Durkin, Theresa Skoranski, Phyllis Dougherty, and Carol Myers; her brother-in-law, Leo Lefchak; her mother-in-law, Frances Lefchak; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Morey Wint.

At Cindy’s request, a private family graveside service and burial were held at Dalton Jewish Cemetery by Rabbi Bubnis.
