Joan Mary (Suetta) McMynne

Joan Mary McMynne, 83, died Wednesday evening at Marywood Heights in Scranton.  She is survived by her beloved husband, Michael McMynne.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Misiewicz Suetta, she was a member of St. John Paul II Parish in Dunmore.  Prior to her retirement, Joan was employed as a registered nurse at the former Mercy Hospital for forty years and at the former Holy Family Residence for an additional ten years.  Beyond her career as a nurse, she was a dedicated mother who always put her family first, living for her children and grandchildren.  She also treasured the time spent with Mike touring the U.S. in their motorhome.

In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by her sons, Michael and wife Cori of Dunmore, Brian and wife Amy of New Market, MD, Matt and wife Robyn of Nazareth, PA, and Tim and wife Maike of Aukland, NZ; grandchildren Stephen and fiancée Gabrielle, Robert and wife Haley, Ryan, Riley, Colin, Marah, Simon, Mia, Theo, and Siska; great-grandchild Eliana; as well as her twin sister, Janet Holden and husband Bill of Scranton.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard, Walter, and Edward.

The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Chestnut St., Dunmore.

Interment to follow in Dunmore Cemetery.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
